Sanju-One Man …. Many Lives

Sanju… A movie that presents us the life story of  Bollywood’s most controversial superstar Sanjay Dutt.

The movie explores into some of the most crucial chapters of Sanjay Dutt’s career which have been exemplarily acted by Ranbir Kapoor. The storyline traces his life from his debut film to his darkest drug addiction days, him being tagged as a terrorist to finally getting a clean nameplate, turning down all the accusations.

One man, many lives is just the tip of an iceberg when it comes to Sanjay Dutt. The films begin with Sanju wanting a writer to volunteer to write his biography and publish it for the public. And that writer turns out to be Anushka Sharma as Winnie Dias. Anushka is seen all dolled up with breathtaking blue eyes with an iconic dressing.

Ranbir Kapoor flawlessly adopted the character physically. Sanjay Dutt’s voice and body language is also adopted by him. The makeup artist did an amazing job also, at few of the scenes one even forgets that it is an actor playing Sanjay’s role. The resemblance is so unbeatable.

Paresh Rawal plays the role of Sanju’s father. He is seen to be his constant support, picking him up every time he falls and standing by him like an unbreakable wall. Manisha Koirala plays the role of Nargis Dutt, Sanjay Dutt’s mother. Her appearance is brief since she dies due to cancer but the scenes between mother, father, and son leaves one in teras.

Vicky Kaushal shares most of the scenes with Ranbir Kapoor. Introduced as a stranger he becomes Sanju’s best friend. He plays a role of mentor, helping Sanju in his difficult times, saving him from problems and bringing him on right patch. He being a Gujarati pronounces few words wrong adding humor to the scene, ‘Shakespeare’ as ‘Sex-Speare’ and ‘Snacks’ as ‘Snakes’.

Sanju has emerged as the biggest opener of 2018. It’s also Ranbir’s highest opening film.
